Melanie Medina

Lead Trial Lawyer

Working out of our Houston office, Melanie Medina advocates for victims of negligent healthcare providers. As a Zinda Law Group attorney, Melanie works tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome for her clients. She is thrilled to join the firm and grow its nursing home and medical negligence practice.

Melanie grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to the United States at just 12 years old. As someone who grew up in a developing nation, she witnessed injustices every day, specifically, financial barriers to the judicial system. She decided to become an attorney so that she could represent injured plaintiffs who needed someone to fight for them. She is currently licensed in Texas.

Before joining the Zinda Law Group team, Melanie worked at a plaintiff’s medical malpractice firm in Houston. Melanie brings with her extensive experience in nursing home litigation and nursing home abuse, as well as wrongful death and survival claims. She also has experience litigating against hospitals and various other healthcare facilities. Melanie is passionate about holding healthcare providers accountable for their bad actions, especially as it pertains to our elderly family members who are entrusted to the care of nursing facilities.

She graduated from Baylor Law School, where she was a semi-finalist in the Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition and where she participated in the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Washington, DC. She was also in the Baylor Barrister Society and the Women in Law organization.

Melanie also attended Baylor University in her undergraduate studies, earning a B.A. in English, despite Spanish being her first language. Additionally, she graduated from Baylor as a part of the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, a very selective honor’s program. She has also trained in Muay Thai and boxing for the last decade, and she enjoys training after work.
